In response to some questions, I received after I responded to a post by Dr. Suzanne Humphries on X link where I shared some observations, I’ve picked up along the way about what it’s like to live with an autoimmune disease and what it is that probably caused me to get it in the first place. I’ve taken the time to write down some information that I hope will be helpful.
How did I get control of the situation? Note that I haven’t completely cured the disease, but I have come so far that the flare-ups are short and they are much milder than before and a large part of that has come from being in the sun more than usual. And I’m convinced that I will heal the symptoms to the point where they will be almost non-existent.
if you are like me and have an autoimmune disease or other symptoms that negatively affect your health, there are some basic things you can do and think about.
Become a notorious information seeker and dare to implement and test different methods. I myself found my way to raw food and would like to claim that I have gained a lot from following a raw plant-based diet for almost 10 years, I have eaten about 90% raw food with small exceptions here and there.
For me, it took a whole year of cravings back and forth before I crossed the threshold and my body understood that I was not going to give up.
I felt like crap both mentally and physically for 4 years but small improvements along the way made me continue on the path. I also started implementing water fasts with success and I really believe in that method.
Don’t take my word for it, try it yourself, start a little easy with a couple of days and continue if it feels good and if you think it benefits you.
The first thing I noticed was that I no longer had any blood sugar drops in the afternoon and that I stopped feeling tired during the day especially after a meal.
An autoimmune condition means that the body is in an inflamed state and needs all the help it can get to heal.
Remove everything bad that can possibly inflame the body further. Here are some examples Hard training like a marathon or brutal sessions at the gym (at least at first), alcohol, bread, pasta, dairy products. processed food and minimize artificial blue light.
Here are some tips:
• Drink at least 3-4 liters of water per day, a large portion of which should come from your diet in the form of fruit and vegetables.
• Move every day to the point that you sweat.
• Make sure you eliminate at least 1-3 times per day. A healthy body does not go to the toilet every other day.
• Make sure you get enough protein and iron.
• Think positively and meditate with a focus on healing. From experience, you should meditate for at least 10-20 minutes a day over a longer period to see results. It is something that I am still working on improving.
• Try to ground yourself every day for as many hours as possible, just 1 minute is better than nothing.
• Supplements that have stuck and found a place in my everyday life are algae, b12, rosehip powder, nettle powder, kelp powder, amalia powder, dandelion powder, oregano oil (occasionally) spices like turmeric, ginger, and other natural fresh herbs like parsley, basil and oregano, sprouts are also something I recommend it’s more food but its like a super food in my opinion.
• Don’t eat after 4:00 PM and eat within a 6-8 hour window. If you feel hungry you probably did not eat enough or you still have cravings. One thing that water fasting has taught me, is that you can go without food for a day without collapsing and dying and this is coming from a guy who could barely think if I didn’t eat breakfast first thing in the morning when I was younger.
I’m sure I’ve missed something and there is probably loads more that i can share but I feel like I’ve got most of the essentials down and if there’s anything to take away from this the following are the most important.
Sleep, sunlight, sweat every day, stay hydrated throughout the day and eliminate at least 1-3 times per day. And do at least a handful of pure water-fasts and listen to your body don’t be stupid! and most important give yourself time this wont be done in 2 months it may take years.
Have a great day! Take care.
if you have questions let me know.
